Since the year 2007, Rotary Clubs of Marennes-Oléron, of Rochefort and InnerWheel of Rochefort organized an annual demonstration in favour of the handicap entitled “World championship of Joëlettes”.
In front of the increasing success and to perpetuate this beautiful action, three clubs decided to create an association. They are anxious to specify that this mentioned association " SYNAPSE 17 " has for vocation to SERVE, based on the tolerance, the loyalty and the respect for the difference ;
She will organize activities for the benefit of the disabled persons.
For 2010, SYNAPSE 17 will implement everything to have some more of runners, more spectators, more foreign participants.
Contacts are taken in GERMANY, in ENGLAND, in POLAND, in SPAIN, in BELGIUM...
• 2007: 15 teams,
• 2008 : 32 teams,
• 2009... Why not 60 ?
• 2010... ???
Joëlette allows during a real test to collect five runners to realize together, in spite of the handicap of one of them, a route any ground full of pitfalls!
It is a question of running, of roaming, of climbing, of coming down on roads sometimes chaotic but adapted to Joëlettes ! It is together, under the applauses, that the teams cross the finishing line ! It is difficult but it is a success in common and it is an unforgettable day which remains for ever burnt in all the spirits and especially in the memory of the one whom, handicaped, was " transported " on Joëlette and so participated in all the running !

The Handijustice association is partner of the action " world championship joëlette Rotary edition 2009 " for the creation of a park " joëlette " by financing 3 joëlettes partially which will be property of Rotary-Clubs of Rochefort and Marennes-Oléron.
All year long this joëlettes will be put at the disposal of associations for nobody in situation of handicap.
